Rhein Chemie donates financial and material resources to the Ferris State University Rubber Program – Student scholarships to be awarded at ’06 ACS Mini-Rubber Expo Meeting

Thursday, 19. October 2006 Rhein Chemie Corporation has provided Ferris State University (Big Rapids, MI) with financial and chemical-material donations, investing in the ongoing growth of the school’s rubber-study program.

Chardon, OH – Rhein Chemie Corporation has provided Ferris State University (Big Rapids, MI) with financial and chemical-material donations, investing in the ongoing growth of the school’s rubber-study program.
To support the program, Rhein Chemie supplied the university with pre-dispersed chemicals for their laboratories, developed an independent study program, and became a five-year corporate sponsor of the student rubber group. In addition, Rhein Chemie reinforced its commitment to the future of the rubber industry by awarding four annual scholarships to Ferris State University students at the 2006 ACS Mini-Rubber Expo meeting in Cincinnati, Ohio on October 10 – 12 .

“Ferris State offers one of the country’s premier rubber programs, generating growth and innovation within our industry,” says Michael Marasch, Vice President of sales and marketing, Rhein Chemie Corporation. “Rhein Chemie shares their vision for excellence, and we look forward to providing our ongoing support to the program.” Scholarship criteria included academic performance, financial need and dedication to the rubber industry. Four students were selected to receive the scholarships, which will be presented to them at the 2006 ACS Mini-Rubber Expo meeting in Cincinnati. The awards had given on October 10, in the ACS Press Room at Duke Energy Center. Since 2003, Rhein Chemie has taken steps to set-up a scholarship endowment with the University. This endowment will be funded over a ten year period, and will become the basis for future Rhein Chemie Scholarships. This endowment indicates Rhein Chemie’s commitment to the long term growth of the Rubber Program.
