Tuesday, 16. October 2007 Student scholarship to be awarded at ’07 ACS Rubber Expo Meeting

Cleveland – Rhein Chemie Corporation has provided Ferris State University (Big Rapids, MI) with financial and chemical-material donations, investing in the ongoing growth of the school’s rubber-study program. To support the program, Rhein Chemie supplied the University with pre-dispersed chemicals for their laboratories, developed an independent study program, and became a five-year corporate sponsor of the student rubber group. In addition, Rhein Chemie will reinforce its commitment to the future of the rubber industry by awarding an annual scholarship to a Ferris State University student at the 2007 ACS Rubber Expo meeting in Cleveland, Ohio on October 16 – 18.

“Ferris State offers one of the country’s premier rubber programs, generating growth and innovation within our industry,” says Rhein Chemie’s Jeff Immel, Global Director of Corporate Development, “Rhein Chemie shares their vision for excellence, and we look forward to providing our ongoing support to the program.”

Scholarship criteria included academic performance, financial need, and dedication to the rubber industry. Rhein Chemie Corporation will present the scholarship to the winner at the 2007 ACS Rubber Expo meeting in Cleveland. The award will be given on October 17 in the Dolder Hassler Room at the Crowne Plaza Cleveland City Centre Hotel at 6:00 p.m.
Rhein Chemie has also taken steps to set-up a scholarship endowment with the University. This endowment will be funded over a ten-year period and will become the basis for future Rhein Chemie Scholarships. This endowment indicates Rhein Chemie’s commitment to the long-term growth of the Rubber Program.
