Dr. Michael Krancher appointed new Global Head of Rhein Chemie’s Business Line Engineering Plastics

Wednesday, 01. February 2012 Effective January 1, 2012, Dr. Michael Krancher was appointed head of the Business Line Engineering Plastics of Rhein Chemie Rheinau GmbH, Mannheim, Germany.

Mannheim – Effective January 1, 2012, Dr. Michael Krancher was appointed head of the Business Line Engineering Plastics of Rhein Chemie Rheinau GmbH, Mannheim, Germany. Dr. Krancher is now responsible for global activities concerning the division of Engineering Plastics. Prior to this he worked as Head of Global Marketing and Product Management in the chrome division at the BU LEA at our parent company LANXESS in Leverkusen.

Michael Krancher started his career in 1984 at Bayer AG where, among other things, he worked in the areas of research and development, strategic planning, and as company director. From May 1997 to February 2011 he worked in various positions at the LANXESS production site in South Africa, in 2004 he became national manager and chief executive officer of LANXESS (PTY) Ltd. and afterwards spent a year working at LANXESS Germany within the business unit LEA.  Krancher obtained a doctorate in chemistry at Cologne University.

Rhein Chemie is the global market leader in the field of hydrolysis stabilization of plastics. Under the brand name Stabaxol®  Rhein Chemie offers a high-performance antihydrolysis agent which protects plastics that age easily against hydrolysis and thus against a premature ageing process. The product portfolio also contains catalysts and activators for the production of cast nylon, as well as modifiers, which improve the impact resistance of polyamides. Furthermore, highly developed catalysts and crosslinkers are used for the production of rigid and flexible polyurethane foams.

About Engineering Plastics Division
Additives from the Engineering Plastics Division are used to protect polymers from hydrolysis and the premature aging associated with this process. The company’s product portfolio also includes catalysts and activators for the manufacture of cast nylon and modifiers that improve the impact resistance of polyamides. In addition, highly developed catalysts, crosslinking agents and stabilizers from Rhein Chemie are used in the manufacture of flexible and rigid polyurethane foams.
